Chapter I

Two metals, turned into one lock.

Before Chanel settled on gold alone, some years of the flap bag closed with a lock cast in two finishes at once — a gold half and a silver half, turning together as one CC.

It is a small detail and an easy one to miss in a photograph. In hand it reads differently: two temperatures of metal, catching light at different angles as the bag moves.

Every lock in this collection is inspected before listing — for turn, for tension, for wear on the plating — and only then does the bag go up for sale.

Chapter II

This is the bag, next to a phone.

Vintage sizing does not map cleanly onto today’s naming. We photograph every piece beside a phone because a measurement in centimetres does not tell you what a bag looks like on a shoulder.

Some of what is listed here is small enough to wear crossbody all day. Some is not. The photograph is the honest answer — read it before the description.

Corners, edges and the base are graded the same way: photographed as they are, not styled to hide what thirty-odd years does to leather.

Chapter III

Open it, and the lining tells the story.

Inside, the leather is burgundy — the colour the house lined its flap bags with for decades before black interiors became common.

Stamped into it in gold: CHANEL, PARIS. On a piece this old, the stamp itself is part of what we check first — its depth, its placement, the way the gold has worn.

This is also where age shows before it shows anywhere else. A lining that has kept its colour and its stitching after this many years is not something every vintage bag can claim.
